Don has created over a billion in enterprise value as CEO of start ups, turnarounds, and buy out’s.
Don Doctor served as Executive Chairman of CompuCom, focusing on strategic growth areas, acquisitions and special projects, a role he resumed after serving for two years as CompuCom’s CEO. As CEO, Don set CompuCom’s course and deterministic strategy to focus on key market verticals, as well as expanding the company’s reach and capabilities, supported by emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things. Don was instrumental in transforming the Company during his tenure as CEO.
Don served as CEO of Systems Maintenance Services (SMS), which he led through an initial acquisition by Frontenac, a sale to Thomas Lee Partners, a recapitalization with Summit Partners and ultimately the sale to Progress Partners. Under Don’s leadership, SMS evolved from a regional hardware maintenance company with less than 100 employees to a global IT lifecycle support company with over 2000 employees.
Don served as the Chairman and CEO of Encoda Systems, Inc., a provider of back-office solutions for the media industry owned by Blackstone, Thomas Lee and other private equity investors. Don was brought in to affect the turnaround and growth of the company, which resulted in a $450M sale to Harris Corporation.
Don co-founded Premier Systems Integrators, Inc., a provider of integrated information and communication technology. Prior to that, Don was a Partner and Vice President at Spectrum Associates, Inc. and he also served in various capacities with Lincoln National Corporation.
Don holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Computer Science from Indiana University. He earned his certification in public accounting in Indiana (since expired).
